Accreditation

Does my Home Health agency need to be accredited?

Accreditation is a choice, it is not required. Many agencies choose to become accredited to provide consumers (future patients and families) with an additional measure of peace of mind that the services and processes that the agency is following are of the highest standards.

Accreditation provides objective non-biased third party reviews to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as the highest industry standards of practice and care. CHAP has the regulatory authority to survey agencies providing home health services to determine if they meet the Medicare Conditions of Participation and CMS Quality Standards. CHAP’s purpose is to define and advance the highest quality of community-based care.
